Dell Refurbished Memory
Upgrading or replacing memory in a Dell PowerEdge server is one of the fastest ways to restore performance or extend the life of an existing system — without replacing the whole server. We stock refurbished Dell RAM across DDR2, DDR3, DDR4, and DDR5, in RDIMM and LRDIMM configurations, covering capacities from 4GB through to 128GB per module.
Every module is tested under load before shipping under our ISO 9001-certified quality management system. Most orders ship from our warehouse in Denmark within 1–2 working days. Not sure which modules fit your server? Use our Dell Server Configurator to check compatibility before ordering.
- Save up to 80% versus buying new
- Tested under load — every module verified for stability before shipping
- DDR2 through DDR5 across all major PowerEdge generations
- 1-year warranty included
DDR3 Dell Server Memory
Still the most common generation across mid-range PowerEdge deployments — including widely used rack servers such as the R720 and R730, and tower servers such as the T620 and T630. We stock DDR3 RDIMMs in 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB capacities at speeds from 1333MHz through 1866MHz. A straightforward upgrade path for keeping these platforms productive without replacing the server.
DDR4 Dell Server Memory
The standard across 14th and 15th generation PowerEdge servers, including the R740, R640, R840, and R940. We stock DDR4 RDIMMs and LRDIMMs in capacities from 16GB through 128GB per module, at speeds from 2133MHz through 3200MHz — covering everything from general virtualization workloads to high-density database and analytics environments.
DDR5 Dell Server Memory
Built for the latest PowerEdge platforms, DDR5 delivers higher bandwidth and lower power consumption per gigabyte than DDR4. We stock DDR5 modules at 4800MHz and above for current-generation servers running AI, machine learning, and large-scale cloud workloads.
DDR2 Dell Server Memory
For legacy PowerEdge systems still in active use, we stock DDR2 modules to keep older platforms running where a full replacement isn't justified. A cost-effective way to extend the life of infrastructure that still serves a purpose.
Finding the Right Memory for Your PowerEdge Server
Dell memory compatibility depends on your PowerEdge model, generation, memory type, speed, and channel configuration. A few rules worth checking before you order:
RDIMM and LRDIMM cannot be mixed in the same system — both slots must use the same module type.
Mixed speeds always run at the lowest supported frequency — matched modules give the best performance and stability.
ECC memory is required in most PowerEdge servers — non-ECC modules are not compatible with standard PowerEdge configurations.
Balanced channel population gives the best throughput — filling channels evenly rather than randomly is worth checking before adding modules.
If you know the Dell part number, search directly. If you're not sure which module fits your server, our team can confirm compatibility. Use our Server Configurator to check which memory modules are compatible with your specific PowerEdge model before ordering.
Frequently Asked Questions
What Dell PowerEdge generations do you stock memory for? We stock memory across all major PowerEdge generations — from legacy platforms running DDR2 and DDR3 through to current 15th-gen servers running DDR5. If you have a specific model in mind, our team can confirm availability.
Can I mix RDIMM and LRDIMM in the same server? No — RDIMM and LRDIMM modules cannot be installed together in the same system. All populated slots must use the same module type.
Does it matter which slots I install memory in? Yes — PowerEdge servers have specific channel population rules. Incorrect slot population can cause the system to run below its full memory bandwidth. Our Server Configurator shows the correct configuration for your model.
How much can I save with refurbished Dell server memory? Up to 80% versus buying new, depending on the generation, capacity, and speed.
What's the warranty on refurbished Dell RAM? Every refurbished Dell memory module comes with a 1-year warranty.
