Refurbished IBM POWER9 and POWER8 Processors
POWER9 and POWER8 are the newest platforms we support, and they still run many IBM i, AIX, and Linux environments. Processors come as modules specific to the machine type and model, and core count and frequency vary by configuration. Match the module to your exact system rather than just the generation, and start with the machine type and model number, for example 8408-44E.
Refurbished IBM POWER7 and POWER7+ Processors
POWER7 and POWER7+ power the Power 7xx generation, including the 770 and 780. These systems are long past end of sale but remain widely deployed, and refurbished processor modules are often the practical way to keep them running. Modules differ in core count and clock speed within the same system family, so match the exact module from your system.
Refurbished Processors for IBM iSeries and pSeries Systems
For older iSeries and pSeries systems built on POWER5, we stock processor cards and system planars. On many of these systems the processor sits on the planar or backplane, so replacing it can mean replacing the whole board. IBM i processors are also rated in CPW and assigned to a processor group such as P05 or P10, which can affect software licensing, so match the exact feature from your system.

IBM Processor Part Numbers
IBM identifies a processor in three ways: a seven-character FRU part number such as 00E6514, a four-character CCIN, and a feature code used when ordering. Any of the three can be used to find the right replacement, and matching the number from your existing part or system documentation is the most reliable approach.
