Refurbished Lenovo ThinkSystem Xeon Scalable Processors
Each ThinkSystem generation takes a specific Xeon Scalable generation: the original SR630 and SR650 take 1st and 2nd Gen, V2 models take 3rd Gen, and V3 models take 4th and 5th Gen. These generations use different sockets and are not interchangeable, so match the server generation first and the model second. Dual-processor servers also need two identical processors.
Refurbished Lenovo System x Processors
System x M5 servers, such as the x3550 and x3650, use Xeon E5-2600 v3 processors, which Lenovo sells under 00AE-series FRU numbers. System x servers were originally sold by IBM, so older processors may also be listed under IBM part numbers. These servers are long past end of sale, and a refurbished processor is often the only practical way to repair or expand them.
Lenovo Processor Option Kits and CPU-Only Parts
Lenovo sells the same processor as a CPU-only FRU, such as 02YH677, and as a server-specific option kit, such as 4XG7A63406 for the SR630 V2. The option kit is built for a specific server, so an SR630 kit and an SR650 kit for the same CPU are different parts. Kits listed as "w/o Fan" do not include a fan, so check that your server's fans match.
Refurbished AMD EPYC Processors for Lenovo Servers
For ThinkSystem SR645 and SR665 servers we stock refurbished AMD EPYC processors. EPYC processors sold for Lenovo servers are often vendor locked, which means a processor locked to Lenovo only works in Lenovo servers, so confirm the lock status before ordering for a different platform.
Lenovo Processor Part Numbers
Lenovo identifies a processor by a seven-character FRU number, such as 00AE680 or 02YH677, or by an option part number beginning 4XG7A. The same processor is often sold under several numbers, so match the number from your existing CPU, or confirm the exact model and server.
