Refurbished Seagate Exos Hard Drives

Exos is Seagate’s enterprise line, and it makes up most of what data centers and server rooms run today. The Exos X series covers high-capacity 3.5" drives with helium-sealed designs, such as the Exos X16 and X18, built for bulk storage, backup, and archive. The Exos E series covers mainstream 3.5" nearline drives and 2.5" performance drives for everyday server workloads.

A refurbished Exos drive gives you the same enterprise design and 24/7 rating as a new one, so it’s an easy way to replace a failed disk or expand an array without paying new-drive prices.

Refurbished Seagate SAS and SATA Hard Drives

SAS drives are the standard for servers and storage arrays, with dual-port support and the performance to handle heavy, mixed workloads. SATA drives deliver more capacity for the money and suit backup targets, NAS systems, and lighter server roles. Most SAS controllers run SATA drives as well, but a SAS drive won’t work on a SATA-only controller, so check your system before you order.

IronWolf and IronWolf Pro are SATA drives built for NAS and multi-bay storage. For workloads that need flash, the range also includes Nytro SAS SSDs.

Legacy Seagate Enterprise Drives

Plenty of storage arrays and servers still run on earlier Seagate lines, and replacing a failed drive with the same model is often the simplest fix. That includes Cheetah 15K drives, Savvio 2.5" performance drives, and Constellation nearline drives. Matching the original model keeps your RAID set consistent and avoids firmware or capacity mismatches.

Matching a Refurbished Seagate Drive to Your System

Start with the part number on your current drive, then check three things: interface (SAS or SATA), form factor (3.5" LFF or 2.5" SFF), and sector format. Many newer high-capacity drives come in 512e and 4Kn versions, and older controllers or operating systems may only support 512e.

Drives for branded servers usually also need the right tray or caddy. Not sure what fits? Use our Storage Configurator or send us your server or array model, and we’ll confirm a compatible drive before you order.

FAQ

Are refurbished Seagate Exos drives reliable?
Yes. Exos drives are designed for 24/7 enterprise workloads, and recent Exos X models are rated for 2.5 million hours MTBF. Every refurbished drive is tested before it ships and comes with a 1-year warranty.

How much can I save on a refurbished Seagate hard drive?
It depends mainly on capacity, interface, and generation. High-capacity Exos drives cost the most, while older 2.5" and smaller 3.5" drives are the budget option. Across the range, you can save up to 80% compared to buying new.

Will a refurbished Seagate drive work in my server?
Yes, as long as the interface, form factor, and sector format match what your controller supports. Send us your server or array model, and we’ll confirm the right drive and tray.

Can I order Seagate hard drives in bulk?
Yes. We handle everything from single replacement drives to full rack orders, and we can ship directly to your customer if needed.
