IBM Refurbished Controllers
We stock a wide range of refurbished IBM controllers, including SAS RAID controllers and storage backplanes for IBM Power Systems and controller canisters for Storwize arrays. Whether you're replacing a failed controller, adding drive capacity, or sourcing an exact part for an older system, we have refurbished IBM controllers ready to ship. If you need a controller that isn't listed, our team can often source it by part number or feature code.
Every refurbished controller is inspected and tested before shipping under our ISO 9001-certified quality management system. Orders ship from our warehouse in Denmark — with express delivery, your order will be delivered within 1–2 working days.

Refurbished IBM Power Systems SAS RAID Controllers
Power Systems SAS RAID controllers are sold by feature code, such as EJ0P, and come in internal versions that attach to the system's drive backplane, and PCIe cache RAID adapters with a large write cache. Internal controllers are specific to the system generation and chassis, so a POWER8 and a POWER9 version, or a 2U and a 4U version, are different parts even when the description looks the same. Match the feature code and generation from your configuration.
Refurbished IBM Storage Backplanes and RAID Enablement Cards
On many Power systems the RAID controller is part of the storage backplane, so replacing the controller can mean replacing the backplane. Split-backplane options add a second SAS controller so the bays can be divided between two controllers, and RAID enablement cards add RAID support to integrated SAS controllers. Match the backplane feature code to your chassis and bay count.
Refurbished IBM Controllers for Older Power and IBM i Systems
For older Power and IBM i systems, we stock refurbished PCI-X and PCI controllers that are no longer sold new, including RAID disk unit controllers, PCI-X cache RAID controllers, and EXP24 controllers for IBM i expansion drawers. EXP24 controllers come with and without an IOP, so match the version to your system, and match the drawer type as well. These systems are long past end of sale, and a refurbished controller is often the only practical way to replace a failed one without migrating the data.
Refurbished Controller Canisters for IBM Storage Systems
For IBM Storwize and FlashSystem arrays, we stock refurbished controller canisters, also called node canisters. Canisters are specific to the array model and generation, and the two canisters in a control enclosure must be the same model, so check your machine type and model before ordering.
IBM Controller Part Numbers
IBM identifies a controller by an FRU part number, such as 00MA054 or 00MH908, and by a feature code, such as EJ0P. The same controller is often sold under many different FRU numbers, so the feature code is the safest way to match it. Storage canisters are listed by machine type and model, for example 2076-824. Search by any of them in our Parts Finder, or use our Server Configurator or Storage Configurator to check compatible controllers for your system.
Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between a used and a refurbished IBM controller? A used controller is sold as-is, without testing. Every controller we sell is refurbished: inspected, tested, and covered by a 1-year warranty. We're an independent refurbisher, not part of IBM's own programs.
Why does the same IBM controller have so many part numbers? IBM has used several FRU numbers for the same controller feature over its life, so one feature code, such as EJ0P, can appear under many FRU numbers. Match by feature code, or contact our team with your system model and we'll confirm the right controller.
What's the difference between a RAID controller and a RAID enablement card? A RAID controller manages the drives itself. A RAID enablement card is an add-on that activates RAID on an integrated SAS controller, so it only works with the system it was built for.
How much does a refurbished IBM controller cost? Prices are listed on each product and depend on the controller type, cache size, and generation. Refurbished IBM controllers typically cost up to 80% less than new.
What's the warranty on a refurbished IBM controller? Every refurbished IBM controller comes with a 1-year warranty.
