Lenovo Refurbished Heatsinks

A Lenovo heatsink is matched to the server model, the processor position, and the CPU wattage, so the right part depends on more than the server name. We supply refurbished Lenovo heatsinks for ThinkSystem, System x, ThinkServer, and Flex System servers, for both Intel and AMD processors, and can source an exact part by FRU number or server model if it isn't listed.

Every refurbished heatsink is inspected and tested before shipping under our ISO 9001-certified quality management system. Orders ship from our warehouse in Denmark — with express delivery, your order will be delivered within 1–2 working days.

Refurbished Lenovo ThinkSystem Heatsinks

ThinkSystem heatsinks are specific to the server model and come in Standard and Performance versions, with the Performance versions using more heatpipes for higher-wattage processors. Match the heatsink to your processor's wattage as well as the server model, such as SR630 V2 or SR650 V3, because a Standard heatsink may not cool a high-wattage CPU adequately. 1U and 2U servers often use different heatsinks, although some parts are shared across models, so check the model list in the part description.

Refurbished Lenovo AMD EPYC Heatsinks

For SR635, SR645, SR655, and SR665 servers we stock Standard and Performance heatsinks for AMD EPYC processors. They are specific to the AMD socket and server model, so they can't be used in the Intel versions of the same servers.

Refurbished Lenovo System x Heatsinks

System x heatsinks for the x3550, x3650, x3850, and x240 are listed by machine type and processor position, such as front/2nd CPU or rear/1st CPU, and by wattage class, such as below 95W or above 135W. Position matters on dual-processor nodes such as the x240 and SN550, where the front and rear heatsinks are different parts. Most of these servers left sale years ago, so new heatsinks are hard to find and refurbished stock is usually the way to get one.

Refurbished Heatsinks for Blades, Towers, and ThinkServer

We also stock heatsinks for blade nodes such as the HS22, HS23, SN550, and SD530, tower servers such as the ST550 and ST250, and ThinkServer RD350 and RD650. Some tower heatsinks, such as the ST250 80W model, come with a fan, so check what is included.

Refitting a Lenovo Heatsink

Fit the heatsink with fresh thermal paste, and check whether the part you order includes grease, since some are listed with it pre-applied. Tighten the retaining screws in the sequence in Lenovo's service documentation, so the pressure on the processor is even.

Lenovo Heatsink Part Numbers

Each Lenovo heatsink has a seven-character FRU number, such as 00D6316 or 00D9085, and its description names the server model, machine type, and wattage class. Several FRU numbers can cover the same heatsink, so match on server model, processor position, and wattage. Look it up in our Parts Finder, or check compatibility in our Server Configurator.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a refurbished Lenovo heatsink the same as a used one? No. A used heatsink is taken from a server and sold as it is. A refurbished heatsink is inspected and tested first, and carries a 1-year warranty. We refurbish independently of Lenovo.

What's the difference between a Standard and a Performance Lenovo heatsink? Performance heatsinks have more heatpipes and cool higher-wattage processors. Standard heatsinks suit lower-wattage processors, so match the version to your CPU's wattage and your server model.

Can I use a heatsink from one Lenovo server in another? Not always. Heatsinks are matched to the server model, socket, and processor position, although a few parts are shared across related models. Check the models listed in the part description, or contact our team with your server model.

What does a refurbished Lenovo heatsink cost? Every listing shows its price, which depends on the server model and heatsink type. Expect up to 80% below the price of a new part.

Is there a warranty on refurbished Lenovo heatsinks? Yes, 1 year on every heatsink.
