Refurbished Lenovo ThinkSystem Server Memory
ThinkSystem servers use Lenovo's TruDDR4 and TruDDR5 memory, in RDIMM, LRDIMM, and 3DS RDIMM versions. These types can't be mixed in the same server, so match the type of the modules already installed. Modules with an -A suffix, such as RDIMM-A, are intended for AMD-based ThinkSystem servers, so check your server's platform before ordering. Modules also run at the speed your processors support, so a faster module won't increase speed in an older server.
Refurbished Lenovo System x Memory
System x servers use DDR3 and early DDR4 modules, with very low profile (VLP) versions for blade nodes and low-voltage 1.35V versions alongside standard 1.5V modules. HyperCloud DIMMs are a System x-specific type that can't be mixed with standard RDIMMs. These servers are long past end of sale, and refurbished modules are often the only practical way to expand or repair them.
Lenovo Memory Part Numbers
Lenovo identifies a memory module by a seven-character FRU number, such as 00D4987 or 47J0212, or by an option part number starting with 4X77A or 4ZC7A. The same module is often sold under several numbers, so match the number from your existing module or confirm the exact server model.
