HP Refurbished Memory
We stock refurbished HP server RAM and HPE server memory for ProLiant servers, from older G5 systems through current Gen11. The range covers DDR2 to DDR5 in registered (RDIMM) and load-reduced (LRDIMM) ECC modules, including HPE SmartMemory, from small legacy modules up to 256GB. Whether you're adding capacity to a virtualization host, replacing a failed DIMM, or keeping older ProLiant servers running, we have refurbished server memory ready to ship.
Every refurbished module is inspected and tested before shipping under our ISO 9001-certified quality management system. Orders ship from our warehouse in Denmark — with express delivery, your order will be delivered within 1–2 working days.

Refurbished HP Server RAM for Gen9, Gen10, and Gen10 Plus
DDR4 covers the broadest range of ProLiant servers in use today, from Gen9 through Gen10 Plus. The memory speed your server runs depends on the processor installed, so newer generations get more out of faster modules. We stock refurbished DDR4 RDIMMs and LRDIMMs across common speeds and capacities, so you can match the modules already in your server or add capacity on the same platform.
Refurbished HPE DDR5 Memory for Gen11
ProLiant Gen11 servers use DDR5 memory, which doesn't fit DDR4 slots. We stock refurbished DDR5 RDIMMs for Gen11, so you can expand newer hosts without paying new-hardware prices. Confirm your server generation before ordering.
Refurbished Memory for Legacy ProLiant Servers
For Gen8 and older G6 and G7 servers, we stock refurbished DDR3 memory, and for G5-era servers, DDR2. These platforms are long past end of sale, and new memory for them is increasingly hard to find. Refurbished modules are often the most practical way to keep legacy hosts running.
RDIMM vs. LRDIMM
ProLiant servers run either RDIMMs or LRDIMMs, never both in the same server. RDIMMs are the cost-effective choice for most configurations, while LRDIMMs reach the highest capacities per module for large databases and virtualization. Populate memory channels evenly and match modules across the server, since mixed speeds run at the rate of the slowest module.
HPE SmartMemory and Part Numbers
On Gen8 and later, HPE SmartMemory modules are verified by the server at startup, while third-party memory may trigger health warnings. HPE memory uses -B21 option kit numbers and -001 spare part numbers, and matching the number from your existing modules is the most reliable way to confirm a replacement. Search by part number in our Parts Finder, or use our Server Configurator to build a ProLiant configuration with the right memory.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which memory does my ProLiant server use? Gen9 through Gen10 Plus use DDR4, and Gen11 uses DDR5. Gen8 and older use DDR3, and G5-era servers use DDR2. Search your server model in our Parts Finder to see compatible modules.
Can I mix RDIMM and LRDIMM in an HP server? No. ProLiant servers support either RDIMMs or LRDIMMs, not both at the same time.
Do I need HPE SmartMemory? It's the safest choice for Gen8 and later, since the server verifies SmartMemory modules at startup.
How much does refurbished HP server memory cost? Prices are listed on each product and depend on generation, capacity, and speed. Refurbished HP memory typically costs up to 80% less than new.
What's the warranty on refurbished HP memory? Every refurbished HP memory module comes with a 1-year warranty.
